Tammy Julien experienced a profound near-death experience during a home birth that went critically wrong, an experience she kept largely private for almost 40 years.
After suffering a severe haemorrhage, Tammy found herself outside her body, observing the emergency unfolding below while experiencing an overwhelming sense of peace, love and connection. Her NDE centred on compassion and a powerful awareness of love extending beyond the individual. As she later described it, “The love was going into the Earth.”
Following her return, Tammy spent decades quietly trying to understand and integrate what she had experienced, at a time when few people around her could relate to what she had witnessed. Over the years, the experience became an important part of her spiritual life, influencing her writing, her practice of deep presence and her work guiding others towards greater awareness and connection.
Tammy also speaks of an inner guidance that she believes has been present throughout her life, including experiences dating back to childhood. Her near-death experience strengthened that sense of connection and shaped the way she approaches life today.
At the heart of Tammy’s experience is a simple message: that we are never truly alone, that unseen support may be closer than we realise, and that something as simple as the breath can help bring us back to a sense of presence, connection and love.
